Admission Criteria

In order to take due account of academic and social maturation issues, the school will admit students according to strict criteria with regard to age, as follows:

  • Students seeking admission into Year 7 at the start of a school year in September must reach the age of 11 years by the 31st August in that same year.
  • Similarly, students seeking admission into Year 10 at the start of a school year in September must reach the age of 14 years by the 31st August of the year of entry.

Students are normally admitted at the beginning of the school year. Admissions during the school year will only be considered if there are vacancies, and will be subject to the same admission criteria.

For September 2010 there are 100 places for Year 7 students and a few places for Year 10 students. All students board at the school.

Admission to DWC is highly selective and the applicant pool is competitive.
