Governance
The Governing Board will ensure that the welfare of the students and academic standards are being upheld to the highest levels, and that the vision of Day Waterman College is being promoted by the School's Senior Management.
The Board will consist of the Chairman, Tayo Aderinokun, supported by all the members of the Development Team.

Mr Tayo Aderinokun is the promoter of Day Waterman College. He is a trustee of Fate Foundation, a non profit private sector led organization with strong concern for the high levels of unemployment and poverty in Nigeria. He is the promoter and current Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank. He has over a decade of experience working in the Nigerian Banking industry serving in Prime Merchant Bank, Continental Merchant Bank and Central Bank of Nigeria. Mr Aderinokun is a graduate of Business Administration from the University of Lagos, and has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Management University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Mrs. Olufunlola Aderinokun is a co-promoter and legal adviser of Day Waterman College. She is a practicing Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and presently the Managing Partner in the Law Office of "B.A. AGUSTO & CO." She has been in active legal practice for over 26 years and in 1997, she was appointed a Notary Public for Nigeria by the Chief Justice of Nigeria. Mrs. Aderinokun is also trained and experienced to handle Alternate Dispute Resolutions. Mrs. Aderinokun obtained a LL.B (HONS.) degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State and professionally qualified as a Barrister-at-Law (BL) at the Nigerian Law School in 1981.

Dr. Habib Jaafar is the Executive Vice Chairman of his family businesses comprising (a) Holborn Nig. Ltd. (PVC Pipes & Textile Factory), (b) Integrated Fibres Ltd. (Polyester extruded filament yarn Factory), and (c) Universal Textiles Industries Ltd. (Textiles Products (Towel & Fabrics) factory.) In 2003, he founded the Everest Group of Companies comprising (a) Elion House Ltd.(Boutique Hotel in Ikoyi), Everest Sterling Ltd. (Real Estate Developers), and (c) United Integrated Construction Ltd. (Contractors and Construction.) Some of the positions he holds are: (a) Vice Chairman, Kano Lebanon School, Nigeria, (b) Chairman, Dar Foundation, Lebanon, (c) Member, Texas Board of Pharmacy, USA, and (d) Member, Lebanon Board of Pharmacy, Lebanon. Dr. Jaafar has a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from University of Houston, Texas, USA, and a Ph.D. in Arab History, from American University of London, UK.

Mrs Funmito Agusto's professional experience in Child Education spans over thirty years. She's worked as a renowned educational consultant involved in the establishment of several schools in southwest Nigeria including the Redeemer's International School where she is currently Head of School/Principal. Prior to this she worked in St Saviour's school Ikoyi from 1982 to 1993 rising to senior management position. Funmito Agusto is a graduate of Froebel Institute, Roehampton Institute of Higher Education, London, where she obtained a University of London Certificate in Education.

Ms. Jeni Sayer is Director of Jennifer Sayer Associates (www.jsa.uk.com), an educational consultancy company which advises on the development of new schools, recruits Heads for International Schools and offers a UK boarding schools placement service for families living outside of the UK. Jennifer Sayer trained and worked as a teacher in the UK before setting up The British School of Lome in Togo, building it up to be one of the foremost boarding schools in Africa. She was appointed British Honorary Consul to Togo and held this post for 12 years. Her unique expertise is gained from over 20 years in International education as a member of the Council of International Schools and the Association of International Schools in Africa, together with a sound knowledge of UK private education system.

Professor Gbemi Oke is the Dean, Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Ibadan. She has over 22 years teaching experience at the tertiary level. She trains youth in reproductive health and lifebuilding skills under the UNICEF/NYSC Training of Peer Educators, and also teaches etiquette in a private finishing school for adolescents in Ibadan. Professor Oke has a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, a Master of Public Health, University of California, USA, and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology.

Mrs Omidire is currently studying for a PhD, Learning Support Guidance & Counselling in the Department of Educational Psychology, University of Pretoria, South Africa. She previously worked in the banking industry for five years before establishing Albright Nursery/Primary School in 1997. Her experience in education spans about 12 years working with learners with age range 2.18 years in different capacities such as teaching, researching, education project management as well as guidance and counselling in Nigeria, England and South Africa. She recently established an Education Support Centre in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. Funke Omidire has a BA(Hons.) in English Studies from the University of Ife, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and a Masters in Educational Psychology both from the University of Lagos. She also obtained an MA in Education from London Metropolitan University, England.

Mr. Tayo Babalakin is one of the founding partners of Klif Consultants, an architectural partnership providing Architectural, Building consultancy and Project management services, Landscape and Interior design solutions for various categories of clients. He has over 20 years of significant experience in Hospitality, Institutional, Educational and Residential projects and amongst the notable ones are Protea Hotel Oarkwood Park, Ikoyi Hotel Redevelopment, GT Bank Ghana, VGC Recreation Club, Mayegun Abudu College Abeokuta, Olashore International School Ilesa and numerous luxury Apartments within the country. Mr. Babalakin holds B.Sc and M.Sc in Architecture both from Ahmadu Bello University Zaira, Nigeria and Graduate Diploma in Energy studies (Climate Responsive Architecture) from Architectural Association School, London. He is currently the Secretary of Association of Consulting Architects of Nigeria (ACAN)

Mrs Akingbe is the Chief Operating Officer of Learners & Trainers, an organisation involved in the development and nurturing of Human Capital. She previously worked in private banking for various banks over 15 year. She sits on several boards (a) Advisory Board of Growing Business Foundation, an NGO involved in Micro Credit, capacity building and addressing the increasing socio economic imbalance in the country, (b) board of trustees of Widows Mite, an NGO seeking to alleviate the challenging situation of widows in Nigeria, and (c) advisory board of Children International School, Lagos. Mrs Akingbe is a graduate of the Protocol School of Washington, USA, has a B.Sc. in Geography & Regional/Town Planning. |
